consistent with the results of the data base search.
February 27, 2000 - Full Database Search
Shrimati's site is now hosted on a Microsoft
Windows NT server and the most visible change to you is the on-line database
search behind the "CD SEARCH" button on the left.
It is very simple to use. Just type in a word
from a title, or a name of an artist or a partial word or name and the first
100 occurrences of the entry will be shown in table format that you are
already familiar with.
The search is implemented using Microsoft ASP
(Active Server Pages). All of the major browsers are quite happy with it. If
you have difficulties using the search, drop me a line and I can see if
anything can be done.
If the end of the table contains a time-out warning or a
note about excessive number of records found, try to refine your search by
entering a more explicit search string. If you don't get any hits, try to
simplify or shorten your search string.
For those of you that wish to download the complete lists
for different categories, the PDF files will remain accessible at least for
the time being and they will also be periodically updated.
The next challenge is to provide you with on-line ordering
capability. Thank you for your business and your support.
Just a reminder that Microsoft IE 5 and Netscape 4.7
are the current versions that we use to check the site syntax against. The
previous versions have difficulties with style sheets and may produce less
than optimal results. Please update your browsers.
